22 Ganton Street in Soho forms the latest part of Fathom’s work with Shaftesbury Capital, supporting them to upgrade their existing West End workspace offer.

Improvements have been designed to elevate the workplace’s identity – a 1920s building just off Carnaby Street – and enhance customer amenities through reconfiguring a series of common areas.

Our approach has been to repurpose existing elements as much as possible to minimise waste and cost.

Entrance and circulation

At street level, the reception area has been refreshed with a warm palette of terrazzo, clay render and a refurbished bamboo floor.

Distinctive dark blue fluted timber panelling clads the curved reception desk, wrapping around the corner to frame the lift doors.

A mixture of pendant and spot lighting has created a softer feel to the entrance, with new dark metal signage aiding wayfinding.

In the stairwell we’ve stripped back and re-sealed existing bamboo treads and added refined metal wayfinding to showers, WCs and the roof terrace.

Workplace floors

On the fourth and fifth floors, workspace has been refreshed to CAT A with more flexible entry, tea point provision and retained services sprayed white to offer a neutral canvas for incoming tenants.

Existing WCs have been fully reconfigured, rationalised to 3 per floor allowing for the addition of a shower.

Taking their cue from the reception palette, the WC and shower rooms feature a pale terrazzo, vertical tiles, textured clay render and timber vanity units and benches.

Roof terrace

On the shared roof terrace, an existing outdated bar has been given a contemporary facelift with glazed tiles, a green terrazzo countertop and additional storage in durable underslung cupboards.

The refreshed bar creates a crafted focal point for the rooftop and ensures the material language established at the ground floor continues throughout the building.

This combination of upgrades has enhanced the identity and amenity provision at 22 Ganton Street to offer a much-improved experience for customers and visitors.
