Substantial refurbishment a 90s office, re-invigorating with a double height reception, flexible workspaces, restaurant and gardens.

Fathom were shortlisted by Nuveen in an invited competition to reimagine an existing 1990s office in the City of London.

At ground level a spacious double height glazed entrance offers views into a pocket park created from an unloved cut-through, an attractive green space which is publicly visible and accessible. A new restaurant unit activates the street, adding life and animation both during and after office hours.

An informal flexible-working space flooded with natural light is carved out of the lower floors and brought to life with an augmented reality living wall. The existing upper office floors are reconfigured for efficiency and enhanced with new roof gardens, views and terraces. Fathom’s aim was to create stimulating spaces for building users to interact and socialise, to promote wellbeing at work and to drive value to underused areas of the building.
